The curvier Kareena Kapoor vs bony divas

Kareena Kapoor was as quick to kick out the size zero trend, as she was to take to it. And for good reason, too. Any fashionista worth her salt recognises that saris are best suited for curves. So, for Kareena, curves it is.Nonetheless, the latest item girl to hop onto the bandwagon of losing weight is Katrina Kaif , the newest item girl on the block. Kaif is rumoured to have lost more than a few kilos and dropped a few dress sizes especially for the song in Tees Maar Khan. Showing off her newly acquired fit figure, the actress was spotted in a red Rocky S lehenga at a promotional event for Tees Maar Khan. Dancing to the tunes of her hit number live on the Juhu beach, it was obvious it's not the lehenga that's big for her. It's just that the actress no longer has the curves to pull off traditional Indian wear.

A straight figure just can't work the sensuality required for an Indian outfit.Sonam Kapoor is also stuck in the same boat. Her size zero body might work for Herve Leger dresses, but it doesn't do justice to a sari. Spotted recently at Masaba Gupta's store launch, the fashionista just couldn't carry off a simple sari with a bold border. The same can be said about Genelia D'Souza who always looks great in western wear but hardly hits the mark when it comes to the traditional Indian.Designer Gautum Rakha of label Rabani and Rakha feels "size zero doesn't suit everybody... Women should look like women. To look sexy in a sari, it's nice to have a curve at the waist and a slightly fuller figure".

Guess who's playing host to the No One Killed Jessica team in Kolkata? It's Rani Mukerji (right), who led from the front whan she, Vidya Balan and others landed in the West Bengal capital to promote their forthcoming movie.

Seems after getting out of the airport, Queen M suggested they head to some Sharma Tea House in Our Kolkata. She reasoned that the eatery served the best chhole puri in the city and the chai would refresh everyone after the tiring journey. Bas, aur Kya? Dhobi enthuses that Viddy B and everyone was thrilled to see Ms Mukerji play the perfect hostess in Bengali land.

Censors wanted Sheila out

Farah Khan has had a difficult time getting her film, Tees Maar Khan, cleared by the Censor Board Of Film Certifications who reportedly raised 18 objections, ranging from the name, Sheila, in the song, ' Sheila Ki   Jawani ...' to calling a "rural characters" Doordarshan. Fortunately, thanks to a sensible chairperson, Sharmila Tagore, and a mature Revising Committee, the film was passed Committee, the film was passed with no cuts. Khan refutes rumours that Sheila was a problem because of the name of the Delhi Cheif Minister, Sheila Dixit.

"I didn't find any logic in the argument because aren't Sonia, Monica, or Munni names of people too? So why was Monica o my darling ...,You are my Sonia.. and the more recent Munni badnaam hui .. passed." But Khan had to beep out the word 'tawaif' (courtesan). Sheila's naval was also a cause of concern, until Khan pointed out that half the women in the country wore a sari and their stomachs were seen too.

She's also edited out a reference to our national broadcaster. The censors weren't happy with a rural character being called doordarshan, so Khan changed it to Duryodhan.

There was a difference of opinion over the use of the phrase 'Maa ki aankh' (Hindi expletive) also. Khan term since it was being bandied around openly, even in the promos of Golmaal 3. In Tees Maar Khan, it's a spotaneous reaction by Kumar.

Khan is upbeat about her Chirstmas attraction - a charity premiere, the proceeds of which will go to her charity, the Jai Vakil School for the mentally challanged: "Whoever wants to be there on December 23 can buy a ticket since it's for a good cause," she says.

Physiotherapist for Deepika

After Munni and Sheila, it's Deepika Padukone's turn to sizzle on screen as an item  girl. The actor recently wrapped up shooting for the remixed versions of Dum maaro dum for Rohan Sippy's movie by the same name. And the dancing was so strenuous that by the end of the schedule, she required the services of a physiotherapist to help her relax her muscles.

While Sippy finished shooting the film about a month ago, only this song remained to be shot for want of a suitable star. After considering stars like Katrin Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, Sippy opted for Padukone to shake a leg in the remixed version of the RD Burman original from Hare Rama Hare Krishna. After signing on for the number, Padukone rehearsed for three days with the choreographers. However, despite her routine workouts, Padukone could barely keep to her feet, reveals a source associated with the film.

Sippy, who arranged for a physiotherapist for the actor, says,"The song is a fast-paced number and is a mix of grooves and moves. If it involved only hardcore dance moves, Deepika would have had to rest for a couple of more days." Padukone says,"I'm doing a pure dance number after a considerable time. I'm sure that in a couple of days, with the help of yoga, I'll be fine."
